our daily routine
07h30 – School Opens. Children unpack lunch boxes and bags into their personal locker box and begin activities indoor or play outdoors.
08h15 – Using music we “Walk on the Line” to prepare for the day.
We then share a short morning group including morning greetings, calendar, and register and sharing from nature.
08h15 – 10:30 – Work Cycle.
10h30 – 12h00 – Snack and outdoor play and activities.
12h00 – 12h30 – Afternoon ring and story time.
morning line time
We enjoying coming together as a group in the morning through listening to lovely music and walking on the line, sitting and ‘creating the space’ and moving onto greeting songs, date and weather and self-acknowledgement. This routine and practice creates a safe space for the children and sets the tone for the day.
work cycle
The children are encouraged to work freely through the four different Montessori areas; Activities for Everyday Living, Sensorial, Maths and Language through the course of the morning. These curriculum areas are set up inside and outside accordingly and speak to the specific needs of the child in the group. In addition to the curriculum areas, themed projects, news, art, culture and relevant topics are covered and we are always inspired and guided by what lights our children’s passion!
Snack time starts at approximately 10h30. Children are also encouraged to prepare fruit on a daily basis which is shared out amongst the children during the course of the morning or to help with hungry tummies.
afternoon ring and story time
We come in from a very busy outdoor play for afternoon ring and story time. Children making their way indoors are encouraged to pack together their belongings. We calm our bodies by walking again on the line to music and then sit to share a story or two whilst waiting for our parents.
